Course Offerings | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Students enrolled in ESOL receive two periods of English language instruction each day: (1) English through ESOL and (2) Developmental Language. Students enrolled in ESOL receive English instruction in a regular classroom setting as well as in a state of the art computer lab. Spanish-speaking ESOL students may also choose to receive individual tutoring and translation services via the Home Language Assistance Program, where students receive pullout services during the regular school day from a full-time paraprofessional. Ms. Rondon is the Home Language Assistance Paraprofessional. Her office is located in the Media Center. Free bilingual tutoring services are offered to Spanish speaking students. They may attend Language Arts and Science tutoring Monday through Thursday from 2:40 until 3:40. Contact Mrs. Place, ESOL Department chair for further information about this program. Spanish speaking students in levels 1 and 2 may also receive bi-lingual instruction in Math, Science and Social Studies (BCC). Click here for a link to the curriculum bulletin. Non-Spanish speaking ESOL students receive individual instruction and assistance in the home language from a multi-lingual team of tutors. This service is provided to the students during the regular school day. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||
