| Freshmen Orientation back | |||
| Orientation is usually held the week before school starts. It is a time for parents to meet faculty and staff members and general information regarding the opening of school is shared. New Student Orientation will be Wednesday August 13, 2008 at 6:30 P.M. in the new Killian Cougar Center for the Performing Arts. Please plan on attending. | |||

| Specialized Student Services back | |||
Killian's College Assistance Program Advisor (CAP) assists students with college admission, financial aid, and scholarships. The T.R.U.S.T. Counselor works with students in prevention of and intervention in substance abuse and other self-defeating behaviors. You may participate in support groups to discuss your feelings about situations involving various problems. |

| Hall Lockers back | |||
You are encouraged to use backpacks to carry your school books and personal items, especially due to ongoing construction and renovations, whereas locker availibility will be limited to certain areas as the year progresses. Lockers are the school's property and may be inspected. You must provide your own lock. You are responsible for the contents of your hall locker; the school will not assume responsibility for items lost or stolen. It is best not to store valuable items in them. Locker Selection will run from August 12 through August 15, from 8:30 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. Bring your own lock. |

| Photo ID Policy back | |||
Miami Killian Senior High School has a mandatory I.D. program approved by the Miami-Dade County Public School Board. Students are expected to have their photo I.D. while on campus at all times. Pictures for the I.D. will be taken at the beginning of the school year. If a student loses their I.D., they will be charged $5 to replace it. Any student not wearing their ID will be required to attend a Saturday School session from 8:55 a.m. to Noon. For more information, click here |

| Assertive Discipline Plan back | |||
The Code of Student Conduct is published by Miami-Dade County Public Schools, and is intended to provide a safe environment conducive to learning. Students who commit a breach of conduct or continued defiance of school authority and policies may lose educational privileges by suspension and/or expulsion. | First Day of School back | |||
| Students should receive in the mail where to report on the first day of school, August 18th. If a student does not receive a postcard in the mail, he/she should look up their names on lists that will be posted in the Bell Tower in the Main Lobby in the front of the school. | |||
